Inside the Padmavati Controversy!

Very funny how, just to make money or to get publicity, some people using even the dead proud Rani Padmavati. It's a shame that although having so many solutions for the issue against the release of the movie ‘Padmavati’, why are not they responding in a fair manner. Yes, history is not that weaker that can be uprooted or can be shaken by a director’s new kind of vision but still why hurt the sentiments of those who are involved, anyhow, just merely to make money? Are we serious? Isn't Sanjay Leela Bhansali rich enough to release his movie without controversy? Is that going to mean him a lot if he shows a few leaders of a fraternity, a special screening of the movie, Padmavati?

Hamilton was a sure joy in Brazilian GP!

Yesterday's performance in the Brazilian GP has once again proved that seldom a driver can outshine the reigning champion Lewis Hamilton on the track - he is the fastest most often and he is the driver who decorates the most of the skills every owned by any driver in the GP history! You cannot count Lewis off even when he starts from the pit lane - he is your champion, friends!

To say the least, we could only wink once (or maybe even not) before Vettel and Hamilton crossed the finish line and there was rarely a 'considerable time gap' between the champion of the race and the champion of the Formula 1 - this was a race which you would remember for your lifetime! It was a joy to watch Lewis in the full beast mode and his overtakes were just marvellous, did you see? And all this proves that Sebastian has to do a lot in the coming year if he has to challenge the current champion, Hamilton. We will have to wait and watch for the coming race in Abu Dhabi to see what remains the equation there.

With You; Without You by Prabhat Ranjan - Book Review

Prabhat Ranjan’s debut novel With You; Without You is a novel which you cannot miss if you admire the younger generation of Hindi authors who are ready to take the proceedings into their hands. Inspired by the classics of the Gurus of Hindi writing, these second-generation authors have fuelled the field of literature with newness and bold steps – they have initiated a new kind of movement by fusing many new things into their writings – they write about love in the most open form as of yet; they write about friendship and their characters (who befriend each-other) never back off from talking about the issues, which, by yet, have never been talked about in the Hindi books. So, you will find a newness as well as a shift from the older versions of the novels towards a newer version. Nevertheless, Prabhat Ranjan, in his debut book With You; Without You, has ensured that he does not lose the charm that the novel holds and he did manage to do the same; he did not give in to the modern ways of writing where physical intimacy has to be a part of the writing (whether appropriate or not).

Shilpa Raj - an author with successful debut!

Shilpa Raj is one of those debut authors who manage (somehow) to represent their thoughts and emotions in such a wonderful manner that they instantly become the fan favourites. The same has happened in the case of Shilpa and her debut work, a memoir – The Elephant Chaser’s Daughter. Released in July in India and later worldwide, Shilpa’s work has been appreciated by most of the readers and also the book critics. Her writing skills have been admired and also her vision as an author to portray the issues which generally remain ignored in the world of literature. Shilpa Raj has talked about the people who seldom find a place in the works of celebrated authors.

To pilgrimage? Only with your body or heart too?

Have you ever undertaken a journey to God's own land? We have many in India and as devout Indians, we do visit as many as possible in our lifetime. Pilgrimage, therefore, is a part and parcel of every Hindu's life, Muslim's life, Jain, Budhist, Christian's and who not! My parents had already taken me for a journey to 'Char Dham'. And now it was time to go on a pilgrimage of 'Dwadash Jyotirlinga'. I was excited, in fact, very excited to take that journey.
