Anita Krishan - the novelist who writes modern classics

Anita Krishan is being seen as the author who is able to produce the contemporary classics in the modern Indian fiction because her novels have been praised very highly based on the merits of writing that she has displayed in them. Her novels, especially the latest one, Despite Stolen Dreams, and the one which was the first in this terrorism sequel, Tears of Jhelum, have been very successful and readers have liked them both very much.

Gujarat Elections & Lessons for BJP for 2019 elections

Lessons for BJP from the Gujarat Elections:

Whether Amit Shah acknowledges it or not, BJP was playing on a wet wicket in this Gujarat assembly election and once it shocked the stock market too when for sometimes the Congress seemed taking the lead and moving towards a majority on the result day. However, the creator had something else in his mind and he saved the market from crumbling and collapsing and somehow the BJP managed to win the election and formed a government with a clear majority but not a convincing one.

Barcelona Wins the El Clasico December 2017!

This is why we should not be laughing as early as did the Madridians and they had to face the humiliating defeat in the game popularly known as the El Clasico of the football events! FC Barcelona has their chances and the pinned down the arch-rivals Real Madrid FC in a convincing manner as soon as the second half of the game started. Lionel Messi was not the sublime but he certainly was the person to watch - with his assist, his penalty and his role in the first goal, he stole the show and the Ballon d'Or Cristiano Ronaldo had to make a face for himself when he had just nothing!

When Feminists Meet - a workshop on Women Issues in Magadh University

Today, there was a one-day workshop held under the aegis of Department of Women Studies, Magadh University, Bodhgaya. The main motto of this workshop was to come out with some important facts regarding women-related issues and spread the awareness among people. Many elegant and reputed scholars have presented their papers in today’s workshop. They were well educated, well-versed and have mastery over eloquence of the speech. The recently news-controversial vice-chancellor of Magadh University was the chief guest of today’s event. The seminar hall was packed with the audiences and they were very active in listening and questioning as well.

एक विश्विद्यालय की वेदना - sorry state of Magadh University

Inside the Padmavati Controversy!

Very funny how, just to make money or to get publicity, some people using even the dead proud Rani Padmavati. It's a shame that although having so many solutions for the issue against the release of the movie ‘Padmavati’, why are not they responding in a fair manner. Yes, history is not that weaker that can be uprooted or can be shaken by a director’s new kind of vision but still why hurt the sentiments of those who are involved, anyhow, just merely to make money? Are we serious? Isn't Sanjay Leela Bhansali rich enough to release his movie without controversy? Is that going to mean him a lot if he shows a few leaders of a fraternity, a special screening of the movie, Padmavati?

Hamilton was a sure joy in Brazilian GP!

Yesterday's performance in the Brazilian GP has once again proved that seldom a driver can outshine the reigning champion Lewis Hamilton on the track - he is the fastest most often and he is the driver who decorates the most of the skills every owned by any driver in the GP history! You cannot count Lewis off even when he starts from the pit lane - he is your champion, friends!

To say the least, we could only wink once (or maybe even not) before Vettel and Hamilton crossed the finish line and there was rarely a 'considerable time gap' between the champion of the race and the champion of the Formula 1 - this was a race which you would remember for your lifetime! It was a joy to watch Lewis in the full beast mode and his overtakes were just marvellous, did you see? And all this proves that Sebastian has to do a lot in the coming year if he has to challenge the current champion, Hamilton. We will have to wait and watch for the coming race in Abu Dhabi to see what remains the equation there.

With You; Without You by Prabhat Ranjan - Book Review

Prabhat Ranjan’s debut novel With You; Without You is a novel which you cannot miss if you admire the younger generation of Hindi authors who are ready to take the proceedings into their hands. Inspired by the classics of the Gurus of Hindi writing, these second-generation authors have fuelled the field of literature with newness and bold steps – they have initiated a new kind of movement by fusing many new things into their writings – they write about love in the most open form as of yet; they write about friendship and their characters (who befriend each-other) never back off from talking about the issues, which, by yet, have never been talked about in the Hindi books. So, you will find a newness as well as a shift from the older versions of the novels towards a newer version. Nevertheless, Prabhat Ranjan, in his debut book With You; Without You, has ensured that he does not lose the charm that the novel holds and he did manage to do the same; he did not give in to the modern ways of writing where physical intimacy has to be a part of the writing (whether appropriate or not).

Shilpa Raj - an author with successful debut!

Shilpa Raj is one of those debut authors who manage (somehow) to represent their thoughts and emotions in such a wonderful manner that they instantly become the fan favourites. The same has happened in the case of Shilpa and her debut work, a memoir – The Elephant Chaser’s Daughter. Released in July in India and later worldwide, Shilpa’s work has been appreciated by most of the readers and also the book critics. Her writing skills have been admired and also her vision as an author to portray the issues which generally remain ignored in the world of literature. Shilpa Raj has talked about the people who seldom find a place in the works of celebrated authors.

To pilgrimage? Only with your body or heart too?

Have you ever undertaken a journey to God's own land? We have many in India and as devout Indians, we do visit as many as possible in our lifetime. Pilgrimage, therefore, is a part and parcel of every Hindu's life, Muslim's life, Jain, Budhist, Christian's and who not! My parents had already taken me for a journey to 'Char Dham'. And now it was time to go on a pilgrimage of 'Dwadash Jyotirlinga'. I was excited, in fact, very excited to take that journey.

Messi on the sublime; is Ronaldo fading away?

I admire Messi; I admire him to such an extent that you might seldom find a difference between my admiration and someone’s adoration. Nevertheless, I don’t hate Rolando! I admire him too; though I know that he is a giant on a different level and he cannot match the greatness that Messi possesses. Still, I like him; I like the way he plays and the way he scores (he seldom does anything else than scoring). What can be better for a Messi fan than the current phase which is passing by – Messi is on the sublime and Ronaldo hardly finds the back of the net. People are, moreover, counting Ronaldo off already and this is what I think is not good. Ronaldo is a great player and this period in his life, maybe harder and tough, will surely pass. He is a machine who scores goal and he will be back – you cannot be so happy seeing a concurrent great player struggling like this!

To all those who hate Lewis Hamilton - please read!

I have read much about Lewis Hamilton on the web, in the newspapers and social media platforms. People have different opinions to offer – some like him; some don’t like him; some love him and some hate him too. Nevertheless, when you talk about the motorsports, Lewis Hamilton is there in your talks – you cannot escape thinking about him! Such is Lewis Hamilton and now a record holding person in the history of the English nation. Hamilton has recently been crowned the champion for this year and has equalled the record with Vettel and others with eyes set for more. He finished 9th in the Mexican GP and still managed to be the king and also continuing his record run of races with points finish and going on. However, there are still the people who believe that Hamilton is not a good driver in the F1 gears. They believe his wins are because of his cars and not his skills. What can one do with such heads?

Show some respect for the nation and national anthem!

Why the hell 2nd October is celebrated? Why do we need that day to be supposed as something worthy to be a national holiday? Okay; there was a person who fought on our side and helped the country become independent and that's all. We respect him and that's it; why at all we need to 'force' that respect on the nation?

Saturday, 30 September 2017

And who cares for us? Pro and Anti Indians listen carefully!

Too much of politics seems to have destroyed the great 'patriotic notions' that we used to have before the independence. We have divided ourselves into so many sections - there are some people who are in the so-called 'intellectual section' who think that all others are deprived of 'good' and 'worthy thinking' and there are some people in the so-called 'pro-India' section who think that all others think against the nation. And there are some people still in between, unable to make their decisions whether to go and mix with this group of that one. For those who are in-between and for those who are in either of the groups, I do have some questions to ask. And I will surely ask as India is my country too as much as this is theirs.

Can we ever forget our teachers? Writes Alok Mishra on Teachers' Day

I Still remember my first day in the school. It was the occasion of Saraswati Puja. (Those who don't know about Goddess Saraswati can understand her by understanding her Roman counterpart Minerva.) I was five years old and after the puja, I was told to hold the chalk and the same was held by the teacher, my first principal - Raghuvir sir. I wrote the numbers from 1 to 10 in Devnagiri script on the slate and believe me, I was the happiest guy in the school at that time. There was a feeling of accomplishment. I was finally admitted in the school and I could continue as a student, finally! I owe my gratitude for Raghuvir sir, and I will always do. Can we ever forget our first formal teacher?

What Should I Tell HER? Writes Nidhi Sharma

A fourteen-year-old asked her mother, "why can't I move out as my younger brother does? Why do you worry for me and restrict my movement?"
The mother was shocked at the question because 20 years back she did not have the courage to ask this to her mother. Finally, she replied, "because you are precious my love. You are our diamond that needs to be preserved. A treasure that needs to be safeguarded."

The Elephant Chaser's Daughter | Book Review

Dear readers, hope you must be reading something and many other things these days. The taste for fiction or nonfiction cannot be altered so easily. We have to make our own choices and stick to those. Nonetheless, we can surely offer our views on things to others and maybe that's a book! Today, I will be sharing my views on Shilpa Raj's debut book The Elephant Chaser's Daughter, which is a memoir. As you must have been aware by my previous report that the book was launched on 28 July (previous month) and since the launch, the book has been taken seriously by the readers across the nation. People have not only been reading but also throwing their reviews on social media and other platforms like Goodreads and Amazon. For the readers who haven't yet bought the book, I have to offer some facts which will tell why one should be reading the book and why Shilpa's book is a must read by all the means.

LIVE: Supreme Court Verdict on triple talaq to come soon!

And the VICTORY is here! Triple talaq has gone! Supreme court passes the historical majority judgement and says that triple talaq is illegal and unconstitutional! Great day for Muslim women in India!

Temporary ban on triple talaq for six months by the CJI! We are yet to hear from other judges. Keep in sync for the updates.

The SC CJI has also directed the government to make laws in the parliament for ban on triple talaq. This is a huge win for the constitutional rights of the women.

Triple Talaq might be breathing its last because very soon from now, the landmark verdict on Triple Talaq by the Honourable Supreme Court will be live for the world to see. Muslim women have been fighting this extraterrestrial curse since long in India and all could be better had Rajeev Gandhi not stagger en route his 'vote bank journey' but better late than never. While most of the Islamic nations have banned triple talaq, India, a 'secular' nation, hasn't done that yet. This time, the fight against triple talaq and for justice was full on as Muslim women came out of homes and demanded equal rights for them. During the vacation, Supreme Court decided to hear the case and everyone should know that who were defending the evil practice - Kapil Sibbal and in a shrouded attire, Salman Khurshid. They both were defending Triple Talaq in the Supreme Court and Sibbal even went to the extent to equating this practice with Shri Ram! Nothing could be more shameful than that!

As the verdict would be pronounced on triple talaq anytime around 45 minutes from now, ILN will be live monitoring and update you on the same. Stay tuned and keep reading the blog on timely intervals. India wants freedom from orthodoxy now! Let's hope for the best!

Colonel Purohit Gets Bail: 'Hindu Terror' Balloon to be BUSTED Soon!

The Supreme Court of India has granted bail to Lt Col Purohit today. Col Purohit is the same person who has to spend nine precious years of his life in jail bearing the stigma of being a 'Hindu Terrorist'. Purohit was (and will soon be once again) one of the most decorated officers in Indian Army with so many badges being donned by him on the shoulder in the form of stars and badges. However, things turned and twisted and 'commands' seem to have come from some other place rather than the high command of the army. Ironically, the person who was supposed to be investigating the case of extremism and working covertly, finds himself fabricated in some blast case and out of the blue appears the phrase 'Hindu Atankvad' and 'Saffron Terror' and just jolts the nation.

Can New India fight floods? If not, then it MUST learn!

Just like the perpetual saga of demons and fairies and angels which almost everyone in the childhood has to listen to, the flood in North Bihar is also never-ceasing. Be it the year of drought or the year of deluge, the villages and villagers in the North Bihar have to suffer the days of problems and havoc, without any doubt whatsoever! All the promises of water management and flood relief schemes are only meant to be implemented once the flood has hit and people have suffered. And this has been the situation since long - even before my birth and now more than 26 years on my back and God only knows how back before my birth the situations were like this. There is no shame admitting that India needs to learn water management from the countries like Japan which can manage even the disasters like Tsunami!

Toilet Ek Prem Katha Review

Why you MUST watch a movie today might have millions of answers but why you MUST watch the Akshay Kumar movie Toilet Ek Prem Katha today has only one solid answer - it is realistic unlike the movies which are just fancy-playing with the hearts which break and unbreak a thousand times in modern Indian movies! After Bahubali - the conclusion, Toilet Ek Prem Katha is the movie which could bring India together once again as it plays around an issue which is the need of the hour and we must come together and clean on that. Toilets are the need of the hour and this Akshay starred movie is the need of the cinema today to make people aware of the issue.

The Elephant Chaser's Daughter by Shilpa Raj Launches Tomorrow

Shilpa Raj's debut book, a memoir, The Elephant Chaser's Daughter, which has been in the buzz for sometimes now, is all set to be released on 28th of July 2017, which is tomorrow. Shilpa's memoir is said to be the documented history of her life until now as well as her family's struggles. The book has been receiving a general positive feedback from various people who practice literature - book critics, authors, scholars. Shilpa's memoir becomes even important because of her credentials - she is the first ever woman from a socially lower community to have written a memoir. She has used this opportunity to a great level by speaking on the important issues which connect with millions of people who live in India deprived of many facilities as well as 'basic human respect'.

Nitish returns to NDA: BJP makes one more state Congress-Mukt!

The new political equations in Bihar were made in a flash and the 'chemical bonding' did not spare any time for the pandits to think. They just did not see it coming and kept whining about the unfolding of events. Most of the pseudo-secular intellectuals are just withered right now because they lost a face on whom they could bet in 2019! On Twitter, the people who used to praise Nitish with folded hands are calling him 'Sanghi' and opportunist. Television personalities, liberals and intellectuals are confused on the moves (but dear people, this is what we call politics, isn't it?). However, no one is taking the fact in consideration that this natural alliance of BJP and JDU is the most beneficial for the people of Bihar and the development of Bihar today. This is after decades that Bihar is about to be launched in a phase where the central and the state governments are the same!

Shilpa Raj Debuts with The Elephant Chaser's Daughter

Shilpa Raj with kids at Shanti Bhavan

Shilpa Raj is the author of the first ever memoir written by any woman who belongs to the untouchable community in India. Her memoir The Elephant Chaser's Daughter will be released on 28th of July 2017 and it is already live for sales on the leading online retailers like Amazon. We are talking about Shilpa Raj today because the author has created a buzz in the literary streets of Indian writing. Her writing style, her mature theme and her handling of the plot are some of the things which are making the headlines and the most important thing is Shilpa's credentials of belonging to a Dalit family. While people in such 'lower section' of our society are not supposed to complete their basic education, Shilpa did not only achieved an M.Sc. in Psychological Counselling but also gave it back to the social hypocrisy - she penned down a memoir and told the world how does it feel like being born to a family which does not have the right to go side by side with other 'upper class' people and nor have the access to the basic needs necessary to be alive.

Rafflesia - The Banished Princess | Book Review

Rafflesia - The Banished Princess is not a usual book that we casually read on a Sunday. This is a rather complex book which people seldom find and also fund to read. They will surely think before spending around 300 on a book and this book is costed exactly the same. However, the book is worth reading or not is the question that we need to answer. Also, the book is voluminous and we had to spend some time reading it. Once the book is finished, today, ILN is offering a review for the same - the debut novel by Gautam - Rafflesia - The Banished Princess.

Magadh University in Chaos during the Senate Meeting as 80 are injured!

Congress Leaders Butcher a Cow; Tomorrow, will they Rape?

Today, it's a 'beef in public' against a Supreme Court driven ban on cattle-selling in the haats (cattle market) for purposes other than 'productive'. Clearly, this was a long-term noise by the people to stop this and finally, the Supreme Court of India directed the Government of India to do something about it and the Modi-led NDA government rose to the occasion. However, what transpired after the central government notification is JUST UNACCEPTABLE and what is even more unacceptable is the 'intellectual cover fire' which is being provided to the act of most cruel and barbaric order by some of the leaders of Congress Party in Kerala. These human beings publicly acted even worse than the beasts and beheaded a calf. Not only that, they celebrated cooking the calf on the public passageway and openly shouting the slogans for Congress Party.

This great news has come a few hours ago and we must admit that this day is marked with great success as our brave jawans have managed to kill one of the key aids of another killed terrorist - Sabzar Bhat, the right hand of gunned down Burhan Wani, yes, the son of a poor school headmaster.

High Voltage Drama after IT Raids on Lalu & Family

The way events have unfolded in the recent hours is splendid! We have seen raids on top politicians who are well-known for being skin-deep in corruption and one among the two is very popular in the world for having a long-term romantic relationship with fodders. How did Lalu manage to stay out of bars for these many years of his political career is the biggest existential question that we need to ask to ourselves as well as all the political parties. And today we have such a situation in Bihar that his sons are in the cabinet of Mr Nitish Kumar, the sushashan babu… isn’t it amazing? My Bihari friends?

Refflesia: Fairy Tale Comes to India!

Rafflesia the banished princess by Gautam Choudhury

Rafflesia the Banished Princess is a newly launched book and is authored by Gautam Choudhury, a business analyst by profession. The early impressions that this book is generating promise to deliver the readers a read which is filled with excitement, enthusiasm and a new narrative in India fiction. The book is a fairy tale with Indian background and twists and turns of love story.

Monsoon Minds: Short Stories and Indian Fiction

Monsoon Minds by Ravi Nambiar

The trend of short story writing could not get a bloom in India because it does not pay off well in the terms of sales and popularity. You can't imagine Chetan Bhagat or Ravinder Singh writing short stories and shooting to the fame club! However, there are the authors, the Indian authors, who write short stories in spite of every odds against them.

An Hour in the Life of Stone Pelters in Kashmir

Stone Pelter one: (Watching the jawan crossing nearby) Let’s abuse him, he will not say a word; his mouth has been sealed by the liberals of the nation who protect us. These liberals you know, they are our messiah! They will never let any bitter sun even touch our bodies, even from behind the clouds. They are liberals; they are the Indians who love Pakistan more than India, most of the times. Liberals live in Delhi, I have been told by the person who pays me for my part-time stone pelting job.

Yogi Adityanath: Elevation as CM of UP | The Right Plan?

Even before Yogi Adityanath took the oath as the CM of Uttar Pradesh, the garbage in Indian media began to show its poisonous colours. Bhagwa clad sanyasi who has long ago taken a different course from his family and personal life was the centre of criticism which is based on his past speeches and public opinions. Which, one might argue, is justified as the democracy of India gives us the right to ask questions, criticise or have different opinions on any subject or person or organisation, including the Indian State. Nevertheless, some extreme hyperactive elements in Indian media went ten steps ahead and declared a virtual state of communal riots in UP! If we believe the hypo-hypotheses of people like Barkha Dutt and Sagarika Ghosh, entrepreneurs, drivers, sabji walas, business persons, women, Muslims, Christians and to say, everyone except the Hindus in UP was hiding in their rooms! Is it not simply too much to imagine? Are not these media persons (actually the agenda-drivers or God only knows whom) creating a state of panic among the people of the largest state of India?

Monday, 27 February 2017

In school, every good teacher promotes a student to ask question. Asking a question is a good practice. But can we follow this practice in INDIAN democracy?

Unlike many other nations that gained independence from colonial rule but descended into dictatorships and military rule, India has remained a democracy, despite its size and diversity. The credit goes to diversity and institutional structures of India.

One of the institutional structures is Election Commission. Election commission has done a tremendous job to empower citizen of India and promote them to take part in festival of democracy by exercising their right to vote. The power of RIGHT TO VOTE has strengthened the Indian democracy. The ideas of constitution & democracy which we inherited from our forefathers have survived and prosper in the form of right to vote.

The process of election which we inherited, with time has seen lots of changes & challenges.  Challenges like involvement of vast unaccounted money, influencing the election process for special interests by sponsoring high-spending misleading campaigns are a threat to democracy. Democracy is a process where voices of a common are herd. But few people having lots of money & ability to fund the political campaign and mislead the crowd, are threats to democracy. There is a need for electoral reform.

Recently Indian government announced the electoral reform
1)      Receive donations more than 2,000 in check or in digital transaction
2)      Political parties file Income tax return with in time frame
3)      Claimed to follow the advice of election commission in proposing a cap of 2,000 on the amount of cash donation that a particular political party can receive from one person in a year.
4)      Scheme of electoral bonds

Criticism of electoral reform
These reforms have some criticism like receiving of donations in check/digital transaction or filing of income tax in prescribed time is not much different from what existing laws says. Before these reforms, political parties used to receive money in check/digital transaction but in fewer ratios as compare to cash. As there is no cap in receiving the amount of money by check or digital transaction, or political parties can receive donations only in check or digital transaction, so I think there was no need to make a new law which is equivalent to rewrite of previous law.

Delay of single day in Filing income tax return by individual or corporate sector result in the penalty, but the new financial bill section 13 A clause (d) of income tax act 1961 does not have a provision for penalty for late submission of income tax return by political parties.  No political parties will get penalised for non-compliance. Tax exemption may or may not drive political parties to file income tax return with in time limit.

The existing limit of anonymous cash donation (20,000) as per section 23 A of REPRESENTATION OF PUBLIC ACT (RPA) has been untouched. And a new clause has been added, that limit the anonymous cash donation from one source to 2,000 in one year. There is no maximum limit to amount of anonymous cash donation received by a political party. The proposal by election commission of receiving 20 crore or 20% of overall donations from anonymous source is not accepted by the government.

The attempt of bringing transparency in the account books of political parties has failed as the most political funds will remain in the bags (political funds are large amount, that can’t be stored in pockets, to keep this heavy amount political leaders need bags!) of political leaders and small amount will go in the coffers of political parties which will be used for expenses which cannot remain invisible.

Now the question raises that huge amount of money paid to political parties is voluntary contribution or donation. This is very difficult to digest that some business men have voluntary contributed crores of rupees to any political parties, as the businesses are done on the principle of making profits. So, are these donations an investment for a return? Or are these anonymous funds are black money generated by political leaders?  This new proposed law for accepting anonymous 2,000 will only ensure more account book entries and tiring work load to cross check there account books.
The secrecy of electoral bonds will not help income tax or election commission. They will not be able to know about donors or beneficiaries, but the donor will enjoy 100% tax benefit by purchase of election bonds.

So, this is not the end of road for election reforms, this is only an initiation for a series of reforms.

So, this is not the end of road for election reforms, this is only an initiation for a series of reforms. Now we can propose a new law in which the resident citizen of India can directly ask questions from its government in parliament or in assembly (like in Panchayati raj system). In parliament we have QUESTION HOUR, where MPs ask question from ministers similarly we can have CITIZEN’s HOUR where resident citizen of India can directly ask questions from minsters, MP and oppositions which constantly disrupt the house. These questions will be recorded like other proceedings of house.
This will promote transparency; pressurize the MPs to let the house function smoothly, accountability of MPs & ministers will rise, and the tax payer will be able to know about the application of his tax. A tax payer has a right to know, what happens to his tax or why allotted budget was not expenditure for the purpose which it was allotted.

An ordinary voter has a complaint that after elections ends, the new government forget their citizens. Now after this law, these ordinary voters can directly ask questions from their government in every session of house.

We have RTI, which work for transparency in the system and provide valid information about government and its work, but the rise in pending cases of RTI in information commission and delay in transfer of information has not served its purposes.

Now the biggest problem with this provision is how to choose few question from 120 crore of populations of India.

Eligibility: to ask question in parliament or assembly
i)        Should be a resident citizen of India
ii)       Should have voted in previous 5 year elections(including parliamentary, assembly, panchayat or municipality elections) and exemption to first time voters
iii)     Should have filed previous year income tax return (exemption to students and homemakers/housewives). Tax payer has a right to ask what happens to his tax money.

First the individual have to fulfill these eligibility criteria, and a lottery system can be used to choose few questions from crores of questions. And there should be strictly no repetition of question or individuals i.e. if an individual has asked question then that individual will not be able to ask question again in that financial year term of that government and once a question asked the same question cannot be repeated by other individual of same nature.

This RIGHT TO ASK QUESTION can provide a mechanism to ensure that citizens’ voices counterbalance a legislature unresponsive to peoples’ interests. The time has come to recommit ourselves to a deeper and more participatory democracy; a democracy with greater alignment between public policy and people’s interests.

Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choices are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore is education- Franklin d, Roosevelt

The wise man does not give the right answers, he poses the right questions- Claude Levi-Strauss

JNU Demon Tries a 'Sneak in' into Delhi University! Dangers Await

The wounds of JNU are still fresh on the body of our nation which is undergoing several injuries already. Afzal Guru to Yakub, Burhan Wani to Bastar's Azadi, the debate has been going on. The separatists are on the roads everywhere and eagerly waiting for the chance to get their bodies into the university campuses across the nation. We have already seen the seminars which are organised to bash our armed forces and sing the choruses for terrorists, naxals and simply anybody who is standing against the nation. Our sadak chhap netas who are ready to reduced to dust in the coming elections, never let loose a chance for the cheap publicity and just jump into these fire to act like petrol. Rahul Gandhi, Sri 420 (Kejriwal) and many other leftists have already done it this time as well. We all know the episode in detail - why it started, when it began and how did it go. I will not go into the technical details of the Delhi University nationalism vs antinationalism incident that happened 4-5 days ago. Today, there was a Tiranga yatra organised by the students of ABVP who are standing against the anti-national sloganeering on the campus.

olympics games TOKYO 2020 become greener

We all know that games unite the diverse population of the world and Olympic Games are based on the principals of unity, friendship, development of humankind, blending sport with culture and education.

Now, these Olympics games have become greener. In coming Olympics games - Tokyo 2020 the organizers of the Olympics games Tokyo 2020 launched a nationwide “green” initiative, as they called on the Japanese population to donate their discarded or obsolete electronic devices. The aim is that the metal collected from these devices will be used in the production of the medals for the games & engage all of japan in medal initiative.

This project highlights Tokyo 2020’s commitments to engage the whole Japanese nation and to offer to everyone the opportunity to play a role in the Games’ preparations. It also responds directly to Recommendation 4 of Olympic Agenda 2020 that states sustainability be integrated into all aspects of the planning and execution of the Games.
Two partner companies were appointed at a Tokyo 2020 executive board meeting, NTT DOCOMO and Japan Environmental Sanitation Center (JESC) for collection of discarded electronics and recycle them. From April, collection boxes will be installed in more than 2,400 NTT DOCOMO stores and an undecided number of public offices throughout the country. The collection will end when the 8-ton target is reached.
The organising committee aims to collect as much as eight tons of metal (gold: 40 kg - silver: 4,920 kg - bronze: 2,944 kg), which after the production process will result in two tons, an amount needed to produce 5,000 Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic medals.
This initiative will not only help japan to reduce its Olympic bill but also help in the reduction of electronic waste & its recycle.  This initiative is remarkable approach to given chance to the citizen of japan to directly be the part of this game. This step will also create awareness in the citizen of japan about recycling of discarded or obsolete electronic devices.
The initiative has already been hailed by some of the athletes who will be leading the charge for medals in Tokyo.
Japanese gymnast Kohei Uchimura was full of praise for the initiative.
“Computers and smart phones have become useful tools,” said the three-time Olympic gold medalist. “However, I think it is wasteful to discard devices every time there is a technological advance and new models appear.
“Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic medals will be made out of people’s thoughts and appreciation for avoiding waste. I think there is an important message in this for future generations.”
“An Olympic medal is one of the most coveted items in existence,” added US decathlete Ashton Eaton, two-time Olympic gold medalist and world record holder. “People spend decades, often agonising ones, working to obtain one. The life stories of so many are defined by the pursuit of these metal medallions, and those same stories are what inspire and bring millions of us together.
“Now, thanks to the Tokyo 2020 Medal Project not only do the athletes inspire with their stories, but each medal itself has a story of its own,” added Eaton. “The best part is that each citizen has a chance to contribute to the story, to raise awareness about a sustainable future and to make a unique contribution. And, most excitingly, they have a chance to be part of the Olympic journey.
“The weight of a medal around your neck is always a good weight,” explained the American. “When an athlete at Tokyo wins a medal, the weight of it will not be from the gold, silver, or bronze; it will be the weight of a nation. The awesomeness of this project makes me want to come out of retirement and compete for one.
Tokyo 2020 spokesperson Hikariko Ono said, “We believe this initiative will contribute to a sustainable Tokyo 2020 Games, and we are looking forward to the active engagement of partner organisations and the general public to help make it a success.

These games will create a history where medals will be given by the citizens of japan and celebrating the spirit of games and humanism.

ILN is now on Blogger!

ILN has downgraded from a shared hosting with wordpress platform to the free hosting with a custom domain on blogger. We have made this move because of many reasons. The first being the limitations on the server that web hosting providers put were not helping us in putting forth our ideas freely. We could not upload images; we could not execute the scripts in our plugins; and also, the site was working terribly slow. The ILN Team wants more and more space as well as fast processing of the requests because we want to write more and more. We hope that this transition will help us reaching our goals.

The lesson that we have learnt is sometimes the paid services are not well enough! You need to rely on free services which have established names in the respective fields. And blogger, as we all know, is time-tested and prime!

We will keep sharing our opinions whenever we feel like doing so. Please keep reading our shares and also keep sharing those to help us reaching the maximum numbers.

Empowerment of the Scheduled Cast Community: - Contribution of BabuJagjivan Ram

Empowerment of the Scheduled Cast Community: - Contribution of Babu Jagjivan Ram

Jagjivan Ram, endearingly called Babuji, was a freedom fighter, a politician and a crusader for social justice. Babu Jagjivan ram was one of the lamps who showed the path of independence to India. Babu Jagjivan ram was unique, brighter than other lamps and was important, as he showed the path of upliftment alongside independence, to the depressed class which were in the darkness of discrimination, illiteracy and unawareness.

He showed the path by leading from the front. His meteoric rise in public life saw him emerge as an eminent and popular political leader, who devoted his entire life working for the welfare of the country. He belonged to the vintage era of modern Indian politics. As national leader, parliamentarian, Union Minister and champion of depressed classes, he had a towering presence and played a long innings spanning half a century in Indian politics. His enduring and quintessentially twentieth century political legacy reminds us of the fervour, idealism and indomitable spirit of India's political leadership that not only fought and won freedom for the country, but also laid the firm foundation for a modern, democratic polity. Gifted with a flair for political leadership and moved by the ideals and goals of the socio-political events that enveloped the country, Babu Jagjivan Ram played a significant role in scripting our country's political and constitutional development and social change. A passionate leader dedicated to public life, he enjoyed immense respect from all quarters. Widely admired for his leadership qualities and organizational abilities, he always remained a force to be reckoned with-in Indian politics.

What is SANSKARAs or Samskaras (Sanskrit: संस्कार)?

What is Samskaras or SANSKARAs (Sanskrit: संस्कार)?

SANSKARA is a practice which we follow by observing our elder generation and mutually follow them. SANSKARA is when a child observes his father shaving; he applies shaving cream on his own cheek or when a child sees her mother applying make-up, then she tries it on herself. it is in general more of observation and following .

SANSKARA has nothing to do with caste, religion, politics, idealism or secularism. It is the practice which we are trained to do. If born as a Hindu, & I practice religious rituals or sing religious rhymes, and continuous constant practice worship by following a particular religious method, than it does not mean that I am a religious person or I believe in god. It is simply a SANSKARA, a practice that I was trained to perform from my childhood. Younger generations tend to copy the older generation, as it gives a sense of social inclusion on a bigger platform.  Nature has given humans diverse needs. And to fulfill these needs there is a need for society and these societies bring the need for social inclusion.

The Fearless Modi in Rajyasabha & Shameless Congress: Raincoat and theDrought

At 2.00 AM today, I jumped onto my bed after closing the lid of my laptop hoping a somewhat good sleep. However, I just browsed through youtube on my mobile to see if there are new alien or UFO videos by my subscribed channels. Luckily, I saw what I have missed yesterday evening. I could not tune in to Rajyasabha for the PM Modi's address on the motion of thanks to the president, Pranab da. It was uploaded on Modi's official youtube channel. Impressed by his previous address in the Loksabha, I could not resist myself. Once played, believe me, it was never stopped until it was over. What shocked me the most was the utterly shameful behaviour by the so-called 'members of the upper house' of the Congress party. Are you serious? Booing and trolling in Rajyasabha? And a shameless 'show the back to truth' attitude? Are we even serious? Nevertheless, as always, Narendra Modi was sharp, pin-pointed and unequivocally angry on the blatant remarks made by our kathputali economist Dr. Manmohan Singh. Last night must have been a nightmare for Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former failed prime minister of India who spent his reign understanding what the rights of the PM of India are...

Failed Prince & The Renegade Son: The Great UP Elections 2017!

I was listening to the address by PM Narendra Modi in the lower house of Parliament today. He was stupendous, with his facts and as ever, eloquent! He started with the 'bhukamp' remark and I could not stop myself from smiling as all others too. All the heads turned towards that corner of the house where our dear 'earthquake man' usually sits. He was not there, however. Yes, I am talking of the 'failed prince'. These days, Rahul Gandhi, the 'failed prince' of Congress, is busy with the Akhilesh Yadav, the 'renegade son' of UP's strongest family. I was thinking to write something on their newly discovered melting point in the politics. Today, listening to PM, I was inspired. When Modi did not leave any opportunity wasted, how could I?

Rani Padmini History: Sanjay Bhansali's Leela and a Slap

I was in no mood to further cut short the life of my keyboard. The events, however, were in such a flash that I could not keep myself away from stepping into the lot. I can see all at once a number of historians walking around in our country; ironically, only a few days ago, they were all well-accomplished economists denouncing the demonetization move by Narendra Modi. Have you ever seen such a great shift in profession? Never should I miss to add, have you seen, once again, such a great shift in 'intellectual' profession? And tomorrow, if there arises an issue with Indo-Pak borders, I am sure all the newly made Historians will claim themselves to be geographers of well repute and will not further hesitate in rubbishing off all the claims by India. (No doubt, some of them might further extend their hearts' and give even Delhi to them, after all, Indian liberals are the best liberals in the world!) Well, today, it's not about sarcasm. Today it's the question of a very poisonous phrase in our country - freedom of expression. Recently, a Rajpoot group has attacked the film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali (forgive my mistakes if I make any in naming him) and also made it physical by slapping him once. The director is making a movie about the life of Rani Padmini. And in the movie, he has included an extrapolated scene in which the tyrant Alauddin Khilji dreams about Padmini. However, this is the dream which is in the roots of this controversy surrounding Sanjay Bhansali. In the dream sequence, Ranveer Singh (the actor for whom having sex is a work and he 'should take it home') enacting Khilji, makes love with Rani Padmini. (And I don't need to tell you what sort of love they make in Bollywood movies which somehow never miss a chance of adding hot love scenes even in the historic movies. Did you see some in Ben's Argo?)

Gita, Life and Spirituality! Going to 19th Akshauhini

How many of you read Gita daily? Okay, leave the daily schedule aside, how many of you have ever read Gita? Well, leaving aside even reading the holy book, how many of you care what is written in the Gita? I am sure the answer will be close to nought if the question were intended at youth of the day. Rarely, I emphasise, rarely the youth of the day care about the religious scriptures because they think it’s just about another ‘dumpling the orthodox’ fashion and they should not read the age-old traditional works which only bind them to certain circumstances. Well, let me tell you all who believe that there is nothing in Gita which can be seen with a connection to the modern days, you are mistaken. Just guidance and a little support by the books which interpret the Gita for you will do the work.

The book 19th Akshauhini algorithm of the Gita has come out previous year by Haribakth, the author. While understanding and decoding the interpretations of the Gita directly through the book itself might be a tough task for those who are not very well-versed in philosophy and spiritual and mythological context, the book by Haribakth can be very helpful. This book has a very distinct feature – the tables, the direct way of communication, the modern analogies and also the illustrations by the co-author Vaishnavi. People who wish to know about the Gita can also read other books, no doubt. However, the 19th Akshauhini will be their basic guide, I am sure about that.

West Bengal Riots: Mamata & The Secular Media

Many things happened in the country since the time I had my last opinion written. Demonetisation and Mamta’s fury; Punjab polls hustle bustle and Sidhu’s comedy; Dangal and Zaira episode with Islamist regressive minds; bollywood’s expanding knowledge horizon; Dhoni & ODI captaincy shift; and the most unwanted thing – further downwards shift in the politics of current opposition in the centre. Now, all these things, for sure, demand a reproach or appreciation as per their merit. Did you do it? Or you are thinking that I missed something out? Oh! Yes, like most of the mainstream media and so-called secular journalists, I missed the Bengal riots and atrocities on the Hindus at certain places. And to be frank and honest, this was the worst thing that happened and even worse that no media did air the episodes! I was constantly keeping an eye on the happenings and I just did not see any debates, any panel discussions, any ‘atms are shut down’ type live reporting… yes, except one or two news channels who also faced the consequences for the same. Is Mamta Banerjee so angry? Is she afraid of the people of a certain community? Under her shelter, a nominal maulana of a masjid directs ‘fatwa’ against the PM of the nation and she is talking of communal harmony in Bengal? Police does not act; administration does not take cognisance; the shops of a certain section of people, Hindus, are burnt; women are harassed; men are killed & beaten; media is silent; local dailies are kept under check. What is happening in Bengal, Didi? Are you on the pay-rolls of Arabs? Questions will arise because you don’t let a seminar against jihad take place in Bengal; you don’t let a RSS rally take place on your soil.

Riots against Hindus in Bengal is not a new issue as we have seen before in Malda. Media people who pose as pious seculars, Barkha, Rajdeep, Sagorika, something called Rana Ayub, the ABP News type channels and all… they keep mum because in the times when Hindus are the targets and Muslims are the subjects, their hate agendas will not work well. Yes, not to be excluded, our undear Ravish or Rubbish babu whose hatred against a certain section of people and certain section of politicians is well-known to the world now.

What Mamta Banerjee does not know or cannot see ‘in his blindness’ is that she is playing with an obvious ring of fire. She can take the advantage only until the time fire is burning slow and no wind touches it. Once the fire comes in contact with a strong wind, the wind of hatred, she will be on the receiving end and this fire will consume all her hate-agendas. Mumming the blots like the maulana who summoned a fatwa against Modi and all those antisocial elements who carried out the atrocities on the Hindus in Bengal, she is only calling her day. And most surprising thing is the silence of communists who are always seen against Mamta. The bigger question is that what’s happening in Kerala; and once we know that, we can certainly know why Mamta and Yechuri both are silent while Muslims are freely using violence against Hindus in Bengal. Has the time come to shun the rights of Bengal government and use the article 356 to impose the president’s rule? Let’s see what comes out. And thanks to the social media people who have come out with the evidences and images of the riots. We will not let her agenda work because we are no more dependent on the mainstream media anymore!
